WHO ARE WE?
Years ago there existed a talented organization whose
purpose was education towards those who judge, show and breed under the
various competitive aspects of the American Kennel Club. It was named
LA Dog Judges Association. LADJA disbanded, but a few judges dedicated
to the same princples formed CIEDJA (California Inland Empire Dog Judges
Association). Over the years, CIEDJA has continued the educational aspects.
In 2006, the decision was made to form a not for profit
organization from the strong root of CIEDJA which would be dedicated to
the same principles but open to a wider audience.
WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?
- To further the education of approved judges and future
judge applicants in the fields of conformation and performance
- Increase knowledge and understanding of specific dog breeds, dog show
rules, regulations and judging techniques, according to the most current
publications
- Act as mentors to new and existing dog judges
- Encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred canines
through education on the individual breeds' natural qualities to ideal
perfection, form, temperament and function
- Urge members, and therein influence breeders, to accept the standard
of the breed as approved.
- To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of all
breeds by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at:
- Obedience trials
- Tracking tests
- Field trials
- Hunting tests
- All other conformation or performance events
- Educate about and promote the purebred dog
- Disseminate knowledge regarding training in all aspects
of the fancy
- Encourage the education and further training of all
judges.
